Accidentally Delete a mailbox? Need to restore? No Problem.

First Open up exchange management console, expand reciepeint configuration and click on disconnected mailboxes. Then right click on the mail box you want to restore and click connect. Then connect it to a user.

What if your mailbox is not in the disconnected mailboxs? You will need to open up Exchange management shell and paste in Clean-MailboxDatabase “Mailbox Database” This will scan your database for for disconnected mailboxes that are not yet marked as disconnected. It will only search the database of the server you are currently on if you don’t specify other wise.

After you run that command close Exchange Console and restart it, your missing mailbox should appear in disconnected mailboxes.

If your database is not named Mailbox Database and you encounter an error simply paste Get-Mailboxdatabase into Exchange shell.

Exchange Active Sync Error: 80072f0d

The security certificate on the server is not valid. Contact your exchange server administrator or ISP to install a valid certificate on the server.  Support code:80072f0d

Problem: The problem is that the certificate on the Exchange server has the wrong name. Maybe your server has an internal and an external name like webmail.contoso.com and server1.contoso.local.

Solution: You need a certificate that will support multiple names. Godaddy will sell you an SSL certificate that supports up to 5 names for under $100.  If you need any help just leave a comment.

Record Your Screen With Tip Cam

Jan 04, 2009 @ 04:40 pm by HackingManual

A Few years ago I was struggling to find freeware that would record my screen so that I could do tutorials, I wound up using the Famously Expensive CamTasia. Although I did not like how much it compressed my videos.

A few weeks ago I discovered TipCam which does just that and more. It records my screen in FLV format and will allow me to upload directly to youtube. Basic Enough yet it has plenty of features.

Windows Complete PC Backup

Jan 04, 2009 @ 04:20 pm by HackingManual

Until Vista came along there was no built in way to back up your entire computer including your operating system, registry and installed programs. Previously if you wanted to make an image of your hard drive you had to use programs like Norton Ghost or Clone Zilla. Now with Most flavors of vista there is a feature called Windows Complete PC Backup. You should make an image as soon as you buy your computer or install windows, or install a lot of software. This way if a virus hits your machine or it’s just a few years old and the registry is all bogged down, you can restore your computer when it was running at it’s peek.

Click the start Bar
Type Backup and restore into the start search bar
Hit Enter
Click Backup Computer

You can either backup to a DVD or a Another Hard Drive besides The Drive you OS is running on
