Alright I looked it up, Kon Boot will not let you access Encrypted Files while it is running, you will get access denied. However afterwards those encrypted files are still accessible to the original user when he logs in normally.

I suppose this Kon boot cd will read the SAM file and inject it with blank passwords. I strongly doubt that it will be able to get to userencrypted files as its.. well encrypted. Just like if you overwrite the passwords in SAM, the encrypted files for that user is unusable. Windows warns you about that when you wanna reset a users password.

Id like to see this working on linux as its a entirely diffrent system and linux doesnt have that hash weakness as Windows have.

One thing that still isnt possible afaik. Is to use such methods to retrive the original passwords from a windows AD. I dont belive you can get the database of users and passwords in a AD. Sadly.

It doesn't overwrite the users password, the password will remain in tact the next time the user boots up the computer. It just temporarily bypasses the need for a password. It would be interesting to test this program on windows encrypted files and see if it leaves everything in tact and gives you full access to the encrypted files.

Can you tells us more? Like, what does it do? Does it blank the password? If so, and there are encrypted files on that user´s profile, will it be lost? What´s the trick?
