In Addition to being available on your PC or Mac, you can view and use Asana from the Asana iPhone app.

AlternativeTo.Net is a website that allows you to do just that. Find alternatives to software. You can filter applications to search for free alternatives, or by platform. You can view users comments on the software to see if it’s a good match as well as filter the software alternatives by rank or by how many people like it.

So your hard drive is getting full and you want to find up what’s taking up so much space but where do you start?

WinDirStat is a free application that quickly identity’s your hard drive usage in an easy to visualize way. You can see which folders and sub folders are taking up the most space. You can also see below which file types are taking up the most space which is color coded with a key to easily identify those file types.

I use Feed Demon, but I’m sure there are other great RSS readers.

The program used is called Kon Boot and It is prepackaged on the latest version of Hiren’s Boot CD.

Basically all you have to do is run Kon Boot from a CD and seconds later you can login to the system without a password. It’s really that Simple. Just select the user you want to login as and leave the password blank and hit login.

Works with pretty much all windows versions and windows servers, as well as many popular versions of Linux.

Things I didn’t like about VMWare Server.

The process to install, and get a serial for the program was lengthy.
The download was huge and took forever.
Version 1.0 had issues with vista and would cause it to crash. VMWare Server Crashes Vista
Version 2.0 was weird and not user friendly.

With virtual box I didn’t have any of those problems.
The download was quick and easy, no vista issues and very user friendly. Forgot to mention Virtual Box is FreeWare!

Microsoft Security Essentials Detected 98.44 percent of viruses out of 545,034. However it wasn’t that great at detecting Spyware and Ad-ware only detecting 90.95 percent.  In my opinion not many AV programs are.  Two programs I recommend for spyware and adware are Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, and Malware Bytes Anti Malware, Both are Free and Deathly effective.

Overall, Microsoft Security Essentials did better than I expected, However I’m not ready to switch from my current AV which is Avira Free Edition. However If you are a corporation or small business it could be very cost effective since most AV Free editions cannot be used for businesses.
