Unlimited Free Calling/Texting Over Wifi From Iphone/Ipod Using Google Voice and Talkatone

Talkatone- Allows you to Make/Recieve Unlimited calls over Wifi or Data from Google Voice even when the app is in the background.

Official Google Voice App- Sends you text notifications and allows you to text back from within the app. However it doesn’t have the ability to make/recieve calls directly from the app. Instead forwards to your cell.

Here’s how to make both of those apps work together to enable Free Unlimited Incoming/Outgoing Calls and Texts over Wifi even when the apps are running in the background.

Download Talkatone and the Official Google Voice App from the app store. First sign into the Google Voice App. Go ahead and set up forwarding to a cell just to make it happy don’t worry we’ll change this later. Enable notifications. If it doesn’t prompt you they will be in Iphone settings under notifications.

Then login to google voice and change settings to forward calls to Google talk. Then go to Gmail and make a call from your web browser. My favorite testing number is the Rejection Hotline 773-509-5027.

Now sign into Talkatone. Click I have made Google voice call from Google Talk. To make a call double tap the contacts graphic at the top. The following menu will come up and you’ll be able to make a call by clicking VoIP Call. Now to try out the features.

Incoming Calls – Call your Google Voice Number. The call should ring in talkatone even while running in the background.

Incoming Texts – You will receive text notifications from the official Google Voice app.  As well as missed call and voicemail notifications.

Happy free Texting and phone calls.

How to make free phone calls from gmail

Nov 14, 2010 @ 12:24 am by HackingManual

If you have created a free google voice account you can make free phone calls from gmail using a headset or built in microphone. Other services like skype make you pay to make phone calls to landlines or cellphones but using google voice and gmail you can make free phone calls.

In gmail under the chat header there will be an option to call phone. Click it and dial your number and you’re off to making free calls. This is especially useful if you’re out of the country or can’t get any cell phone service.

If you’ve made at least one outbound call from gmail, and have forwarding set to google talk in google voice settings you can receive inbound calls in gmail too.

Did Google Steal Instant Search From Facebook?

Sep 10, 2010 @ 05:53 pm by HackingManual

So After Google introduced Instant search I wasn’t all that impressed. In fact I always shut it off, it annoys me.  Blog Authors come out with all these articles about how Google instant search is the greatest thing ever. How Google will take over the world with it, and demolish Bing. I use google for one reason because it gives search results I’m actually looking for. Bing and Yahoo don’t, in fact I think they are programmed to find the exact opposite.

Anyways Later I was on Facebook and when you type in the search box it gives you Instant Search. Whooaa! Discovery. I like Facebook instant search sometimes, but other times it just gets in the way. I know what I’m searching for, especially when I type something really fast and hit enter, and it doesn’t bring up search results, nope it brings up the page of who it thought I was talking about.

So did Google steal instant search from Facebook? Who knows, I made it up, Ideas and inspirations come from lots of places.but I hate articles that make everything sound like it’s so amazing and news worthy.
